I had four days in London and had an amazing time. However, four days was not enough time to explore the amazing city.
We did so many wonderful things in London. We saw all the tourist hotspots, like Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the London Eye and Buckingham palace. When we went to Buckingham palace it was 32 degrees Celsius, very unusual for London. It was a beautiful day and my friend and I strolled around St. James Park and saw wildlife, like geese and squirrels. I definitely recommend hopping on a tour bus if you don’t have a lot of time in London, we found it great because we saw all the sites in about a one hour bus tour.
I also did a bit of shopping. I found that Oxford Street and Convent Garden where the best places for shopping. They were especially great because they had all the big stores that Australia doesn’t have, such as Urban Outfitters, H&M. Also, Zara and Topshop are much better in the UK. I went to Camden Town, which is a funky area with lots of markets. It had lots of markets that sold fake stuff and I found a cute Indian stall the sold beautiful jewelry and purses.
While I was in London, I went to a few museums. My favourite one was the Tate Modern museum. I could have spent hours in there. I loved the Victoria and Albert Museum it showcased artifacts from various different time periods. It also had a David Bowie exhibit, which looked incredibly interesting, however tickets had sold out the day I went.
From London, we caught a plane to Amsterdam. We are currently having a lovely time in the Netherlands and a blog post about our time here will be posted soon.
