Before I went to Amsterdam I was a bit apprehensive because I thought it was just going to be coffee shops. I was proven wrong.
Amsterdam was one of the most amazing cities I’ve been to. The people there could not have been friendlier. Every time I was looking at a map or looking a bit puzzled, someone would run up to me and ask if I required help.
Like London, I felt I didn’t have enough time in Amsterdam. We stayed in the coolest hotel, it was such a luxury after our confined hostel in London.
My favourite part of visiting Amsterdam was going to the Van Gogh Museum. I also found the Anne Frank Museum interesting. It was great going there because I’ve read the book and have seen both Anne Frank films, so it was fascinating to see where Anne Frank actually hid.
We were also very luck that we went to Amsterdam when we did because there was a gay parade. It was the coolest thing to watch. There were lots of people dancing in boats.
Overall, Amsterdam as fantastic and I would recommend to everyone to visit the city. I hope to go there again for a weekend trip while I’m studying in Edinburgh.
